Newborn Session Guide

Booking your newborn session:

Newborn sessions are best done before the first 14 days after birth. Contact me as soon as baby arrives, and we  will schedule the first Tuesday or Thursday available.

What to expect:

I have everything here for baby's first photos. A variety of hats, headbands, props and blankets.

Parents are welcome to take a few photos with baby. If you are considering being in the photos we start with parent and sibling photos first. We then move on to only baby during the rest of the session.

Parents and sibling clothing: Solid colors work best, and coordinating neutrals for family photos. Below are some outfit ideas:

How long will the session last?

Your newborn session will include 2-3 sets depending on how long baby will allow. Plan on being in the studio around 2 hours.

A session usually includes the following sets:

-2 natural sets: baby is wrapped, hats and headbands are used, on a fabric or fur. We tend to get detail shots during these setups.

-1 posed/prop setup: use of prop usually buckets, boxes, or item you bring, these sets tend to have more editing done to remove parents arm, and swap faces. Baby must be fully asleep for this type of setup.

How do I receive my images?

Your digital images will be available to download within 12 days time from your online gallery. Your products will take around 3 weeks.

Home newborn sessions

If for whatever reason you are not feeling well enough to bring baby to the studio within the first 14 days, you have the option of my coming to you.

Home newborn sessions will have a more laid back, natural, lifestyle look to them. I will photograph baby, and parents if you wish in the baby nursery, or a room that has nice bright sunlight.

I will bring a limited amount of props with me, such as a basket, hat/headbands/ and coordinating wrap.
