Newborn Prep Guide

Studio newborn sessions

Booking your newborn session:

Newborn sessions are best done before the first 14 days after birth. Contact me as soon as baby arrives, and we will schedule the first Tuesday or Thursday available.

Only parents, siblings allowed in the studio at this time. Please do no bring in any addiontal persons or children to the shoot with you. The shooting space is smaller and additional persons can be a distractions.

We are located at: 1312 W Main Street, Lebanon, TN 37087 Suite G

**Tips for baby to have a smooth session: **

Please plan to feed the baby once you arrive to the studio. When they have a full belly they will be in deep sleep and your session will tend to run smoother. If you have a pacifier you can bring that in as well.

Giving baby a bath early that morning and keep them awake and stimulated on the car ride, also helps them to sleep better during photos.

Sets/Props:

Your newborn session will include up to 4 sets/prop changes for collection 1, and up to 6 sets for collection 2 depending on how long baby will allow. You can view blanket colors, backdrop colors and props below and send me 4 screenshots of colors or props you would like to use before your shoot so I can have them ready for you. If you are adding family/sibling photos, that counts as one set and you will have 3 more remaining to choose for baby.

What to expect:

Please keep in mind; not all babies will sleep, not all babies will love the froggy pose or love to be swaddled. We start with a few screenshots of props and poses, but don’t feel bad if we can’t get the exact pose, we work around your baby’s needs.

I have everything here for baby's first photos. A variety of hats, headbands, props and blankets.

How do I receive my images?

You will receive a proof gallery to view and choose your favorites to be edited. Your digital images will be available to download within 2 weeks of selecting your favorites from your online gallery.

How long will the session last?

Plan on being in the studio around 2 hours.

WHAT TO WEAR: Solid neutral colors work best, textures like knits, linen and corduroy photograph great. Long sleeves for dad, flowy dress for mom, no designs or busy patterns. If choosing a black backdrop, black shirts or sweaters look very classic. White, cream, and beige with jeans are very popluar as well. NOT RECOMMEND TO WEAR: no plaid, checkered, stripes, large designs or large logos. We want the FOCUS to be on you and baby not on busy bright clothing.
